Tournaments of Artemis IX

My first big tournament was a lot of fun. Myself, Fern, Cimone, and Thayet led our team; the Bird Buddies, with Artemis�s blessing. It involved a lot of fighting, as well as some puzzles and knowledge based pursuits. King Cecil was on my team. At one point, he handed me his shield and told me I should figure out what to do with it. Cordelia helped me translate the runes which read �Hope, Shelter, Power�. I later learned that this is his beast name. But that did not help me here. After talking to his son I learned that this was the King�s Page shield, and that I was to act as his Page for the duration of the event. Orion helped to teach me what a Page was, and I accepted. It was an honor to be able to work with the King for the day.
Date: 4/30/1022 There were many tournaments. Both combat tournaments and knowledge based tournaments. Aelias did a ritual to Artemis which gave the Huntresses the ability to swing armor piercing, an ability which was very underutilized until it wasn�t. There were also specific challenges which only we could do, such as capturing a flag or using our full weapons and armor. Overall it was incredibly fun and I left the battlefield exhausted but proud, especially after we were able to win the tournament overall. |
