We know that you will have been taught much of our order�s past. Hopefully your protectors have explained to you what happened and why we had to take the steps that did. By writing this down we hope to help calm our minds for the difficult days ahead, and that someday if needed, reading our words might help bring peace to your mind as well. The Corruptors seek a human body to use as a host for their dark god. They have a goal of using someone �whose bloodline has known the touch of the void,� and have become fixated on you as a child of two keepers. We were sent into hiding by the Free Resistance of Gi, the last remains of the Allied Duchies that used to keep the peace before this war began. We will protect you, and our home, with all we can bring to bear. The invaders have done something to the cycle of life and death itself, so we have had to be on the lookout for the unnatural as well as more common forces. Unless a miracle has occurred, you will likely have to grapple with this as well. Above all else, we want you to know that we love you more than anything in the world. We are so incredibly proud of the outstanding person you have already become. We know that you will bring light and love and joy to so many others throughout your lifetime. If you are reading this, then we are gone. Know we held you in our hearts until the end, and may your memories of us bring you comfort. You remind us of what we are fighting for, and how bettering the world for all does not have to be fully abstract. It can also be about how one child is going to grow up.
