The Duchess Ophelia (in her form as a sword) is considered to be a 'bane' weapon against the Bois. This most likely stems from her hatred of the darkness that almost consumed her.

And now it is known that the bois can infect people with a sickness that does not respond to regular means of curing diseases and poisons. We don't yet know the effects of the sickness.
